ABOUT
My name is Mirjam Letsch and I live in the Netherlands. I am an anthropologist,
trained at the University of Amsterdam and specialized in South Asia. I have
travelled in Asia, mainly India, extensively and work as a freelance photographer.
Through my work for our Duniya Foundation, I
know many people from India for a longer time. By far most of the people whose
portraits I take, are people with whom I have interacted for sometimes extensive
periods of time, with whom I share meals, whose children I saw being born and
who invited me for the funeral rites of their relatives. I hope this personal
relationship shows from the portraits I made.
I am available for assignments and we have a very extensive photo archive. Of
course, the photographs on my website are just a limited selection of my work.
